Job Summary
Work with QA Manager to support production and ensure safe, high quality products. This includes driving food safety culture, building food safety programs, ensuring compliance to regulatory standards and relevant GFSI schemes, and compliance to relevant certifications. This includes but is not limited to:
· FSMA
· Kosher Certification
· Organic Certification
· Certification to SQF Food Safety Code

Works comfortably in a variable temperature environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in regular office conditions, a laboratory environment, production, inside a cooler or in a warehouse.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities
Quality as Manufactured Support
Lead effort to document Standard Work for production and quality processes.
Help train Standard Work documentation workflow.
Work with Operations team to capture and improve Standard Work process steps.
Support Redzone Learning Module.
Support Redzone evolution (including quality, food safety, and sanitation documentation)
Use Standard Work documents to develop and help train Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed (find opportunities to develop training programs within functions)
Assist with audit preparation (some on routine cadence)
Help manage certification requirements for:
- Kosher
- Organic
Review and assess compliance to Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), including:
- Review Food Safety Plan
- Review validations and verifications
- Review Complaints and CAPA
Assist in execution of Food Safety Audits
Completes projects or other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager.
Qualified to complete essential functions as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
This role will act as the substitute for the primary SQF Practitioner
Support communication around hold management program
Support lab tech development
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field preferred.
· 5+ years in quality/manufacturing/sanitation management roles with experience in food. production. Experience with dairy or frozen novelties, a plus.
· PCQI (preventive controls qualified individual) for Human Foods certification required.
· Understanding of Food Safety and Regulatory requirements.
· HACCP training previously completed.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Desire to work cross-functionally to drive strong Food Safety Culture
· Full understanding of FDA/USDA regulations and GMP in a food manufacturing facility.
· Understanding of GFSI (global food safety initiative) audit requirements.
· Training in or experience with FSMA / Food Defense.
· Ability to connect with and influence plant management and plant workforce.
· Continuous improvement experience.
· Ability to work beyond standard business hours as needed, including holidays, weekends, or different shifts.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas and technical information in an easily understandable way.
· Strong planning and organization skills.
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
· Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and analyses and interpret lab results.
Additional Requirements
· Experience with SQF highly desired.
· Experience with Redzone quality and production system, a plus
· Experience with basic in-house lab testing for safety compliance.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
